We will be needing volunteers for the upcoming Pumpkin Bash @ Red Ridge Ranch on Oct. 24-25th selling Wisconsin River Brand Meats.  Please contact John N if you are able to help out.  This is a great fundraiser for our club.

The Triathlon went very well this year.  There was only one incident and that was resolved very quickly.  Thanks again to all who helped out and did a great job.

In November the club will be hosting a display at Hatch Public Library. Jim R has purchased several books and reference materials which the club will be donating to the library.  We will also have a live demonstration on November 17 from 5-7PM at the library.  Howard will find out when we will be able to set up the display case and get back with the group.  A planning meeting will be held at Bud W’s home on Sunday Nov 1 at 4PM.

Comm. Trailer updates:  Dan (Adams) has offered to get some golf cart batteries at cost of $35.00 ea. for the Comm. Trailer. The following people have generously donated monies for this project, Dan, Bud K, Larry and Howard.  Monies will be collected and given to Dan at the November meeting.

The lp tanks are full and need to be mounted on the Comm. Trailer.  A motion was made by Howard to have Bud W mount the tanks on the trailer this was second by John N.  All approved.

The club has purchased 2 repeaters from the Sheriff for $100.00.  It was discussed to take the 210 repeater down for a maintenance redo and update an also doing some work on the 85 repeater. A motion was made by John to reimburse Bud W $100.00 for the repeater and was second by Larry.  All approved.

The website is in need of some housekeeping.  Dan has offered to help out with this task.  John and Dan will need to get together in the near future.

With nothing further to report from the Radio Club the meeting was turned over to Ares/Races. Congratulations from all of us, to Howard becoming the new EC for Juneau CountyHoward.

Howard started off by informing all of us about the SET Testing that was held earlier this month.  There were 15 amateur radio participants along with 2 public nurses that helped with the pandemic senerio.  We also had many counties check-in along with different Nets, packet stations and simplex was used.  We all had a great time.  Thanks for all members that participated.

Upcoming events: Officer meeting will be held on November 9th @ Kwik trip @  7PM.

Regular monthly meeting will be held on Wed. Nov 11 @ 7PM at Mauston City Hall 4th Floor Community Room with guest speaker Tom K9CJM.

The Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday Dec. 5th.  Details will be given at the November meeting.

The Christmas party/meeting will be held on Wed. Dec 9th, 2009 @ 7:ooPm at CJ’s Italian Restaurant on Hwy82 E in Mauston.  We need to have a number ASAP to give to the restaurant.

Start thinking of ideas for the upcoming year which you think the group would like to do.

Respectfully submitted by Nancy Noga KC9KCC
